Supper with the Stars' co-author Jenny Hammerton makes Vincent's muffins every year for National Blueberry Muffin Day (11 July) and, one year, won a prize at the Muswell Hill and District Horticultural Society Summer Show in London, UK.

How to make

Cream the sugar and butter together. Add the eggs and mix thoroughly.

Sift and measure two cups of flour. Sift again with the baking powder and salt. Add the flour mixture alternately, little by little, with the milk to the creamed ingredients. Carefully fold in the blueberries.

Grease muffin pans with butter, fill them half full with the mixture and bake in the oven for 20 minutes.

Serve warm.

2/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup butter, softened

2 eggs, well beaten

2 cups flour

2 teaspoons double-acting baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

2/3 cup of milk

1 cup blueberries
